Quality Assurance Supervisor, 2-1-1 Call Center Operations
United Way of Connecticut

SALARY RANGE: $40,000 - $45,000

POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all aspects of Quality Assurance in a 24/7 call center environment for 2-1-1 Call Center Operations including Husky and EMPS (Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services) programs. The Supervisor will ensure consistency and quality of services delivered by all units with 2-1-1 operations. The Supervisor oversees and monitors the program and develops and implements quality assurance initiatives by working closely with 2-1-1 Call Center management team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling or related fields.
  • Three years working in a human services position which includes supervision and training.
  • Three years experience working in a call center environment.
  • Working knowledge of call center technology and supporting software systems.
  • Experience in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
  • Certified as an Information and Referral Specialist (CIRS) after one year of employment and certified as a Crisis Worker through (AAS) after completion of 500 hours of crisis intervention work or after two years of employment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing needs within the department.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Community Investment Manager
United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut

Position Summary: Provide support to improve community conditions in relation to United Way’s mission. Individual will assist with the management of initiatives related to United Way’s community goals by researching and conducting data analysis, developing year round relationships with United Way supported partner agencies and providing technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for processes related to United Way investments such as preparation for outcome reporting process, funding requests, agency visits, volunteer management, training, etc. Also serve as liaison with software vendor as needed to resolve technical issues.
  • Serve as liaison to assigned partner agencies including but not limited to: monitoring agencies’ management and governance practices as well as program strengths and support, agencies’ participation in Community Campaign and partnership events, providing staffing support to volunteers providing accurate and updated information on partner agencies, project status, etc.
  • Conduct basic research pertaining to community issues and grants and contribute to grant writing process as is appropriate.
  • Provide analytical support to managers by having the primary responsibility to set up funding spreadsheets, inputting data, updating and redeveloping formulas, analyzing and formatting funding data for different audiences, preparing handouts, etc. using Excel and Access.
  • Research and write scripts for community bus tours
  • Provide technical support for organization’s database system in regards to updates, pulling of reports, etc.
  • Ability to speak about United Way to various audiences throughout the year
  • Provide coordination of interdepartmental project teams
  • Attend special events and community functions during and after business hours.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred. Strong communications skills both written and verbal, strong organizational, planning, analytical, research, relationship management and facilitation skills. Ability to plan, organize and conduct effective presentations to convey ideas and concepts to groups. Must have more than basic experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and must have desire to be an internal resource to the department in regards to the software noted above. Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and the willingness to travel throughout United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut’s catchment area.

Administrative Assistant - Temporary
United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut

Position Summary: Provide administrative assistance and project management in support of the Donor Relations Team including other paid staff, volunteers and loaned executives involved with campaign activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with loaned executive and coordinator programs; including recruitment, training and support as needed.
  • Maintain all office supplies and campaign-related supplies, including the maintenance, tracking, ordering and occasional delivery of campaign supplies to workplaces. Must be extremely organized and have a good handle of supply inventory at all times and be able to anticipate department supply needs.
  • Prepare letters, memos, reports, mass mailings, mail merges and other documents as needed.
  • Answer and refer telephone calls and respond to routine telephone and written requests.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper files, records, mailing addresses and various databases, ensuring that they are accurate.
  • Independently compose written responses/proofreads work for content and accuracy.
  • Provide support to all campaign-related projects, events and meetings; including, but not limited to, faxing, copying, RSVP gathering, name tag assembly, meeting room set-up and break down.
  • Communicate with others, within and outside the organization on a variety of non-routine matters, requiring knowledge of terminology, procedures and departmental responsibilities, as well as judgment related to the best person to handle complex or management issues.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or commensurate experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy: intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Attention to details, ability to handle multiple tasks and very well organized
  • Ability to work independently and take appropriate initiative
  • Valid CT Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed

Loaned Executive
United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut

Position Summary: The Loaned Executive (LE) is one of the most dynamic sources of well-informed and fully committed manpower in the campaign. He/She is responsible for planning and implementing successful employee campaigns beginning in late August through late November.

Responsibilities:

  • Each LE is assigned a portfolio of accounts. This diverse mix of major corporate, manufacturing, professional, medical, retail, non-profit, state and federal companies in our 40-town region have a strong history of running United Way Campaigns. Will be responsible to connect with assigned companies, attend planning meetings, present the United Way message at company kickoffs and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Will concentrate within a specified area of the campaign, but is also expected to make him/herself available to assist other team members as well.
  • Work with volunteers and Donor Relations Managers to identify and develop leadership giving prospects and opportunities for engagement on a year-round basis.
  • Keeping thorough and accurate records and notes and responsible for reporting at weekly meetings on the status of accounts.
  • Participate in a 7 day training that includes, but is not limited to, public speaking, an agency bus tour, and best practices on how to run a successful United Way Community Campaign.

Requirements:

This is a full-time, temporary position and a perfect fit for a recent retiree, dislocated staff, or other non-employed individuals. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Good organizational ability and attention to details. Experience in fund-raising, public relations and/or sales preferred. Also experience with state and federal government a plus. Must be proficient in the use and application of computers, specifically in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must have an Associates, Bachelor degree or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile required.
