EDUCATION FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN
HOMELESS EDUCATION IN
CONNECTICUT
The Connecticut State Department of
Education will ensure that all Connecticut
children in homeless situations have the
opportunity to attend, enroll in and succeed in
school. Also, the child's school district must
provide transportation to and from school of
origin at the parents' or guardians' request.
Eligible students include children in homeless
shelters and domestic violence shelters;
children living in motor vehicles; foster
children in temporary placement; runaways; and
others who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate
night-time residence.
